The Mk6 Golf

The sixth generation Volkswagen Golf has been in production since 2008 after its unveiling at the Paris Auto Show in October that year. The model is produced and assembled across Asia and Europe in Germany, Ukraine, China, Indonesia and Malaysia. It is built as a 3-door or 5-door hatchback, a 5-door estate and a 2-door cabriolet.

The Golf is available with a wide range of engines and transmissions, from a 1.2 litre petrol to a 2.0 litre turbocharged diesel, and a 5-speed manual gearbox to a 7-speed automatic one. The Mk6 was the first Volkswagen Golf to include air conditioning as a standard feature. It also boasted improved safety features which resulted in a maximum five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP crash test agency.
